Good morning, friends!! It’s Friday – hooray! I’m sure a lot of you have Halloween plans this weekend. If you’re like me, you have not decided 100% on a costume to wear. I don’t know what it is about Halloween, but I almost always wait until the last minute to pick out my outfit. Any other holiday or event I get excited about it and plan ahead. I’m not quite sure why Halloween is different for me. Maybe it’s because I’m not so much an advocate for this holiday, but more so a supporter of all the chocolate 😉
The past few years I have planned my outfits based on current trends. I like the idea of incorporating items that can be worn in my everyday wardrobe. This year I have my eye on my most favorite fall trend: the detailed sleeve! From lace trimmed to oversized bell sleeves, I am really loving the extra details used in this season’s tops and dresses.
I’m thinking for a party look I can come up with an outfit that is either renaissance era inspired or a retro 70s look. I’m leaning more towards the renaissance look because another fall trend is velvet. By incorporating both the detailed sleeve and velvet fabric an outfit from this time period should be fairly simple. If I find myself in a style rut though, throwing on a bell sleeve top and flare denim will be my backup plan.
Whether you need inspiration for this weekend or for your fall wardrobe in general, I’ve put together two separate shopping lookbooks below. The first contains items with the detailed sleeve under $100. My personal favorite from this group is the last grey sweater. Scroll through to the right to check it out. The second lookbook lists items under $200. These items are little more pricey, but that’s because most of them are dresses.
I hope this helped give some of you outfit ideas for the weekend ahead, even if you aren’t dressing up for Halloween! Enjoy your weekend and all the extra sweet treats!! XOXO
