Good Wednesday morning my sweet friends!
Today, I am thrilled to share with you all one of my most favorite blogging collaborations to date. As you may have seen on Instagram or in my latest blog post, my friend, Courtney, and I enjoyed a girls day out in Durham, NC recently. We ate brunch, sipped on cocktails, explored an art museum, and even fell asleep in the most dreamy suite once the day ended. Would you believe me if I said everything we did that day was all within one building?! That’s right, 21c Museum Hotel Durham is some kind of special and I’m excited to show you exactly how incredible they are.
Courtney and I began our day at 21c by eating brunch in the hotel’s restaurant, Counting House. Everything we tasted was absolutely delicious. In fact, it was so great that we decided to bring our guys back for dinner that evening 🙂 We started our meal with sweet potato crisps and deviled eggs with bacon jam. For entrees, Courtney ordered a fabulous vegetarian dish, the roasted portabello galette, and I had a B.L.T.A with mixed greens salad.
In my opinion, no meal is complete without dessert. Thankfully the chef at Counting House, Thomas, thought the same. He chose three of his favorite desserts for us to taste: chocolates with crushed toffee, sweet potato creme brulee, and the seasonal apple spice carnival ice cream.
Following our delicious meal, we swung by the bar just outside of Counting House for a housemade cocktail. With cocktails in hand, we explored the art exhibits throughout 21c.
The art museum is primarily located on 3 floors of the building. Exhibits are rotated frequently, which is great if you are local and have a chance to visit often. The galleries are free and open daily to the public.
Our most favorite area in the hotel was by far the bank vault located on the bottom floor. It could not have been a more perfect and unique setting for chatting over drinks.
As the day came to an end, Courtney and I checked into our rooms and found ourselves on the outside terrace. Watching the sunset over downtown Durham on the terrace was absolutely breathtaking.
It was very hard to leave our beautiful rooms the next morning. All I could think when packing up was, “Can I hit the rewind button?”. 21c Museum Hotel Durham went beyond our expectations of staff service, cleanliness throughout the entire building, and a truly unique setting for our girls day out in Durham. Next time I visit (because I most definitely will be back!), checking out the gym, spa, and sauna are on my to-do list.
If you would like to enjoy 21c in Durham for yourself, then be sure to use promo code, ‘DAVISSTYLE’, when booking for a special rate of $139 per night. This discount code is valid until December 30th, so I’d suggest to go ahead and book that staycation that you’ve been dying to for 😉
A huge thank you to 21c Museum Hotel Durham and Counting House for hosting Courtney and I. All thoughts and writing are my own.
