Hey sweet friends! I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas!
Today I’ve been playing catch up on things around the house. We got in last night from traveling for Christmas and boy, did it feel nice to sleep in our own bed. I absolutely loved our time in NYC and seeing our family in Eastern NC, but there truly is no place like home.
Side note: I’ll be sharing a post about our trip to New York soon, so stay tuned!
New Years Eve is quickly approaching this weekend – hooray! I wanted to share an easy outfit idea with you all featuring a staple in my wardrobe: denim. This pair by Paige is a new fit that I’ve recently fallen in love with. It’s a high-rise skinny cut that is made of fabric with stretch. The dark wash is great for night time looks. Hence why I am using them to style this party look 😉
I paired these jeans with a lace detailed top from Anthropologie, statement earrings from Moon and Lola, black suede pumps, and a bold lip color. This exact top sold out over Christmas, but I’ve linked similar lace options above. I always like to link my outfit details in case you need to fill gap areas in your closet with something I’m wearing. I believe in making the most of your wardrobe. This includes re-wearing items (gasp!!). Before you begin online shopping, I want to challenge you to try recreating this outfit from items already existing in your closet.
Remember, my style posts are just ideas. Finding your own personal style is more important to me than making Danielle Davis Style clones, ha! If you’re feeling a little lost with this outfit in particular then follow these tips:
- Choose a top and lip color that compliment each other. Don’t know how? Check out this tutorial by Brit + Co on choosing the correct lipstick for an outfit.
- Dark colors are the new black. Yes, I just said that. I love my black, but sometimes its nice to give it a break. If you have a dark navy or even a dark plum shoe color, then now is the time to show them off!
- Metallic accessories are easy to pair together. My earrings and purse are both gold, but not the exact same shade of gold. THAT IS OKAY. Even if the metal on my earrings was silver, I would say the gold purse would be just fine. Don’t think too hard about perfectly matching your golds and silvers. It’s nice to have a mix.
