‘Tis the season for holiday events and parties galore!
Typically, this time of year the color you see women wearing mostly is red. It’s festive and it has “Christmas” written all over it. I absolutely love seeing how women pull together outfits of red this time of year. Today, I’m switching gears on traditional holiday outfits and talking about another color: black! Sure, black is not a color that screams “cheerful”, but it is what I would consider the universal color that is okay to wear anytime of year. To narrow it down just a bit, I’ve decided to share two looks with a Little Black Dress (LBD).
Up first is a twofer dress I purchased from a local boutique in Raleigh. I originally bought this dress to wear to a wedding in October. Unfortunately, that wedding was supposed to take place at the beach when Hurricane Matthew came through. I never ended up wearing this dress, but I’m so glad that I hung onto it because I like how it transitioned into the holiday season.
By adding a faux fur stole and tassel earrings, this LBD was holiday ready in a blink of an eye. Yes, styling can be THAT simple!
I wore my most recent go to lip color (Rosecliff). If you wanted more color added to this look, then I would wear a berry color like this one (Satin Media).
Usually I don’t like wearing open-toe shoes during the winter months. However, our weather lately has not been very winter-like. I chose to wear the Mairana Ankle Strap Sandal Heel by Vince Camuto. For a closed-toe option, try the Helaine Suede Lace Up Pump by Sam Edelman (these are on sale right now!).
