Happy Monday, friends! I hope you all had a great weekend. My weekend was pretty low-key. It consisted of a local blogger date, grilling out, and making the first fire of the year.
I told you all last week (here) that I wanted to start this month of thankfulness off right by sharing two cause-related brands with you. Today, I’m introducing HALF UNITED, an apparel and jewelry brand that is fighting child hunger.
Seven years ago, a sister and brother duo started their business with just $200 and a passion to feed children. The siblings, Carmin and Christian, began selling products made out of recycled material. They admit that their products in the beginning “weren’t the greatest”, but customers were more interested in buying what HALF UNITED stood for.
To date, the business has provided over 500, 000 meals for children in need. Their products have evolved tremendously and they can be shopped in several of retail stores across the country.
When I received my HALF UNITED order in the mail, I was elated by the fact that my 3 pieces of jewelry donated 21 total meals. That truly blew my mind. I kept asking myself, “How could this super cute AND affordable jewelry be so powerful?!” That’s the impact this amazing company is having around the world.
Of course, after opening my package I was immediately ready to style an outfit with each piece. I decided to play off the layered look of the Phoebe Necklace (I have the amethyst color!). With a few fall staple items (shirt – sweater – denim), my beloved wine colored heels, and the HALF UNITED jewelry, this look came together as one of my most favorites lately.
If you’d like to support and shop HALF UNITED, then visit their website at www.halfunited.com. Be sure to check out their well-known Fighting Hunger Bullet Necklace and their Gift Sets that would be perfect for Christmas!
