Fall Travel Outfit

What’s your favorite adventure during the fall season? Is it visiting the pumpkin patch, going to the state fair, or tailgating for a football game? For me, apple picking with my family is my most favorite thing to do during the fall. Every year we all spend an October weekend up in the good ol’ NC mountains. One of the days we are up there, our tradition involves heading to the orchard to pick apples. Well…that, and drink apple slushies, apple donuts (mmmmmm)–pretty much all things apple. Finally, that weekend is here and I am soon to be mountain bound!

Whatever you love to do during this season, I’m sure it involves being outdoors. The question is: what will you wear while enjoying it? I’ve put together a foolproof outfit plan for you to follow before you head out for your fall adventure. Here’s what you will need:

ONE: A lightweight and comfortable dress. The one I am wearing is only $44 from Nordstrom (so free shipping!). It is right on trend for this season with the criss-cross detail neckline. Another option I like is here

TWO: A jacket, sweater, or some sort of cover in case you become chilly. I really like the look of flannel and plaid during the fall months, so I chose to wear this neutral grey one. I’m digging this color in the flannel too.

THREE: Items for sun protection like my fall fedora and go to Ray-Bans

FOUR:  Comfortable shoes. For this outfit I wanted to have a more fashion forward look, so I chose my lace-up flats by Steve Madden. While they are very comfortable I probably would prefer a more supportive shoe (like these booties) for fall adventures.

FIVE: Handbag to carry the essentials. My favorite handbag for everyday is this tote by Rebecca Minkoff. In my opinion, she makes the best bags that last for years. If you’re more of a satchel gal, then this one would be perfect for this outfit!

Obviously there are many different variations to this outfit, but that’s what is great about it! Mix it up with a different jacket or even try over-the-knee boots for your shoe choice. The main idea is to stay comfortable and be prepared so you can enjoy your time!
