As I sit here typing this morning I’m sipping my coffee, my window is open, and I’m curled up in a blanket. I love peaceful mornings like this. Especially during the fall when everything seems to feel warm and comforting.
Besides this morning, I had my first taste of fall this past weekend. Will and I took a quick trip to Asheville, NC. The leaves had not changed yet but the weather was magnificent! Cool in the morning and low-mid 70’s in the afternoon. Sounds heavenly, right? If only we could make the weather pause during this time of year…
As always, the weather influences our outfit decisions. I was excited to pull out my boots and try this layered look while up in the mountains. The military vest is one of my favorites for layering this fall. I think it is a great versatile piece. The dress I chose to pair with the vest is from a store you might not believe…OLD NAVY! I saw this dress worn in a #NYFW street style photo on one of my favorite fashion bloggers, Jacey from Damsel in Dior. She kills layered looks and is my inspiration to try new twists on styling. For example, she styled this dress with a detailed lace collar for a very chic look. Once I found out where this dress was from I was shocked. She made a $30 dress look like a $300 one. It just goes to show that styling key for any outfit.
